Wheel Throwing Taster

Curious about the pottery wheel? Our Wheel Throwing Taster Course is the perfect introduction to this rewarding, hands-on craft.

In this relaxed, beginner-friendly 3 week course, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the basics of wheel throwing. Learn how to prepare your clay, centre it on the wheel, and experience the magic of shaping it into your own creation. With plenty of individual guidance and support, you’ll have the opportunity to make your own pieces while discovering the techniques and rhythms of working with clay.

No experience is needed! We provide all the clay, tools, materials, and firing. At the end of the session, you’ll choose your favourite piece to be glazed and kiln-fired, ready for collection once it’s finished.

Whether you’re looking to try something new, enjoy a creative outing, or see if pottery is for you, this taster class is a fun and inspiring way to get your hands dirty and discover the joy of wheel throwing.

We provide everything you need to enjoy a smooth and inspiring wheel-throwing experience - just bring an old towel and a willingness to get your hands dirty.

Our studio is fully equipped with high-quality pottery wheels, a selection of beautiful, easy-to-work clays, and all the essential tools you’ll need for shaping, trimming, and refining your pieces. We also supply a range of glazes, allowing you to explore colour and finish in your own unique style.

Firing is included, with your work carefully dried, glazed, and kiln-fired to a durable, food-safe finish. Aprons are available in the studio, but we recommend wearing comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little messy.

From your first lesson to your finished pieces, we take care of the materials and process so you can focus on learning, creating, and enjoying the experience.
